Question

engine repair : rocker arm

Sent to Car Experts August 16, 2006 2:02 a.m.

I was just advised that one of my rocker arms is going bad (making a knocking noise). The mechanic said I need to have the lower half of my engine (3800 supercharged, 98 grand prix) replaced. He stated that he would put the top part of my engine on the lower part of a used engine. I was just wondering if this is common practice and what this type of repair generally costs. Thanks
