Question

Car idling after a dead battery.

Sent to Car Experts August 09, 2006 4:05 a.m.

Hi. I got a 1997 toyota rav4 at 100,230 mileage. Recently, the old battery died out and replaced with a new battery. It started to idles irratically especially in the morning when the engine is not warmed up yet. It starts idling at around 300 - 500 rpm and sometimes died off. But once it warms up, it stabilizes at 900 rpm. Diagnostic from a gas station mechanic says air control valve malfunction. Please advice. Thank you

Hello

Usally that is a good place to start. Did they do a scan on the computer...if so were there any codes?? Could also be a temp sensor.

Please get back with me with more information
