you need to release the hood latch by moving the lever that is connected to the hood release cable...either from underneath or through the grille...

Reply to JONATHAN's Post: I can appreciate that... but where is that lever located: looking immediately above the grill, into the slit between it and the hood, there is a super thin space, due to a sort of black metal ceiling. That is why it is not possible from below, and even removing the grill netted zero results in the company of an experienced Nissan tech!

I am not sure where the lever is, so I don't know where to focus my effort!

Thanks, Dave

the lever is incorporated into the hood latch on the back side of it...its where the cable is actually secured

Reply to JONATHAN's Post: Jon,

I tried and tried... It seems the hood latch is far behind the sfety... and I have no idea where to start unhooking it.

Thanks for trying to help me out, but I need a chainsaw.

Just take a look at one, open it with no cable help, and be my hero. Then, write to me!
