my mechanic said i need new front brakes and rotars ...

my mechanic said i need new front brakes and rotars because my rotars or brakes are down to 2ml and new ones are 10ml. I dont have the money, i do but it would be a stretch. Should I let them fix it. I brought it in for another job.
