I have recently replaced the flywheel/starter and i still get a "clunk" sound when I turn it over. I have also tried to shim starter. Mechanic has no idea.

Pre-1981 Chevrolet c10 350

Already Tried:
new starter/flexplate and shiming starter

yes, it will still start the engine and will run fine. But it just doesnt sound right. I tried adding lock tight to the starter bolts and it started fine. Took it around block tried to start and made same sound.
