Engine light doesn't stay on so even when my mechanic ran a computer test everything shows up normal. There is no water in the gas tank, fuel filter has also been changed. I asked him to change the distributor tomorrow he doesn't think it's necessary, he claims I'm just throwing my money away but I don't think I have a choice. My other guess is the fuel regulator but everything seems possible.

Went to the mechanic this morning, he said the suv idled all day yesterday and didn't cut off once. I told him to disconnect the alarm wire to the distributor and change the fuel relay. Hope that works for at least to next week. I think I'll tank my wifes advice and just get a new truck. I need my vehicle everyday wish I didn't. Thanks for your help. Oh, the fuel pump was changed last week but thant wasn't the problem either, truck did run a little faster.
Happy Hoilday.
