I have a 1998 Chevy Lumina LTZ 3.8 automatic.
Car stalled on occasion till more pronounced now. Noted it happened when gas tank is low. Now it happens even with full tank. Mechanic has replaced crank sensor, cam sensor, says fuel pump checks ok.   He says it runs 16 degrees retarded an can not determine why. Do you have any ideas. I have also had cat converter, intake plenum and related gaskets replaced.

take the knock sensor and move it to the transmission then how does it run? does it only stall comming to a stop?
