My husband just bought a 96 dodge caravan that was running really really good, then he got some bad gas and it started spitting, cutting off and missing. The mechanic first said put gas treatment that takes out water from the gas that did not work, then he put in b-12 treatment that did not work, then he told him to change the gas filter, that didn''t work,he took it in and the mechanic put his machine on and it told him to change out the trottle sensor and the map sensor, that didn''t work, then he changed out the computer the codes disappeared the engine lite went out he test drove it and it was fine until my husband tried to drive home and it started all over again. Then the mechanic said do a tune up with new wires and everything which we did and it is doing the same thing. Needless to say we are so frustrated that a mechanic has had spending all this money and the van is doing the same thing it had been doing with all this new stuff. Please tell me what to do.

They did do a diagnostic and did replace 3 sensors and a fuel filter and I just know after the gas was when the problem started. so what you are saying is there is no way to know what is wrong.

Thats not what I am saying at all,I am saying you still have a problem that needs to be diagnosed. I told you the tests that need to be done in order to find the problem. You have to find out by using the scan tool readings the condition the engine is running at,rich or lean, then find out what is causing it to be out of range.I understand you are frustrated, since many parts were replaced and it didn't fix you problem. Please re read my first answer to you,I believe I am giving you good advice.Jerry.
