where is the the problem ?

pontiac grand am 3100 overheats when running airconditioning but seems ok when the heat is on.
I had the mechanic look at it when I bought it and he said all was fine but obviously all isn't fine..is there a switch that needs replacing or something?

A thorough inspection of the cooling system is in order.Take special note of cooling fan operation and radiator flow.A marginal cooling system can overheat when the added load of a/c is added.A new thermostat wouldn't hurt either.
