A new coolant? Wouldn't that be a radiator flush? This was described to my wife as a way to clean out carbon build-up in the engine. A chemical is definitely involved.

Thanks so much for your help but I'm confused. When you reply "replacing the coolant" are you talking about the engine oil? I think of oil as a lubricant - not a coolant.

The dealer's engine flush does not include the oil change.

I'm reading lots of opinions about engine flushes in online forums and so far, most opinions lean towards engine flushing not being necessary if you change your oil frequently and worse, the stuff that comes loose in an engine flush can actually clog the engine.
