Hi,

It's a common problem for your TL. You'll more than likely have to have the transmission replaced with a reman. unit to fix it. The transmissions aren't the greatest in your year and when I worked at Acura when the whole transmission problem hit I was replacing transmissions 2 a day all month for a couple months. Acura was extending the warranty and replacing them for free but I'm not sure if your transmission is still covered. You can call Honda directly and talk to a customer service agent and see about it. If they won't replace it outright you can ask them to cover the cost of the parts and you'll pick up the labor which is about $600-800.

Let me know if you need more help.

Yeah, I just read about all of this yesterday after doing a bit of research on the internet.....do you know anything about a "goodwill" thing to get it fixed (It said they would do that in certain situations) I am single and I have a very "huge" medical bill....I called them and they said mine was not covered under warranty....Is the goodwill thing the thing about paying for the labor and them covering the parts? And how is the best way to get this? Just ask outright....She acted like that would be up to the mechanic...Is that true? Thank you so much for the info!!!
